KARIYE (CHORA) MUSEUM

Known as the Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora, is a medieval Byzantine Greek Orthodox church preserved as the Chora Museum in Istanbul. It’s located in Edirnekapı district. In the 16th century the church was converted into a mosque.

Then it became a museum in 1948.

The interior of the building is covered with some of the finest surviving Byzantine mosaics and frescoes.

Another must to see in Istanbul. Don’t miss it.
